QR codes are becoming an amazing way to gather and share information and store it in your mobile device instead of in your wallet! In all reality, who really needs another business card in the mix stuck between the plastic from your CVS, Walgreens, insurance, credit cards and the like.. ?

• I’m having great luck with the reader app from the Android Market called QucikMark. It is also available for the iPhone. Just install directly from your market or download it from their site. It has gotten the best reviews from some tech sites for it’s awesome viewing capabilities. Another QR generator to take a look at is Kaywa.

• Jumpscan has a great free QR code generator. I really found it a user friendly site. Just create an account, plug in your information on their online template, hit the generate code button and Viola’ , there you are with your scannable, personalized QR code for your brand or business!  Jumpscan is in their beta version right now, which offers users the option of connecting Social Networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Flicker accounts. I have emailed the creators asking if they are coding Facebook Pages as a social network option, They responded promptly stating that they were working on it, and to check their blog, Twitter and Facebook feeds for an update soon. This is great news, because many Facebook users aren’t  keen on co-mingling personal and business status updates on Facebook.  Another Jumpscan uber cool fact is that you can track the hits on your personalized code by clicking on the stats tab under My Profile.  ROI! How awesome is that? Other notable QR generators are Kaywa and Qurify.

Here are some additional ways that a business owner can  knock it out of the park right now by utilizing QR codes:

• Claim your business on Google Places and then generate a “for print” official Google Places QR code that you can display proudly on the front door of  brick and mortar location. Make sure you have a special listed  for your customers to link to- this creates another great capture for your target audience to enjoy!
• Integrate QR codes into any direct mail or email marketing piece that you are producing. Direct the user back to your blog for another connection point.
• Place your own QR code into a widget on the sidebar of your blog. This not only is an easy way to generate yourself into the palm of your hand, it is a cutting edge way to promote your niche.
• Share your QR code as a link from your Facebook Page status and Tweet it to your Twitter status or from the generators website and update it to your LinkedIn profile!
