Businesses Don’t Fail..Leaders Do! I know..It’s a pretty bold statement, but don’t let what I wrote mislead you.. I am talking about a strong, rock solid, branded or recognized business that should have prospered, but DIDN’T solely becasue of lack of Leadership.
I realize that businesses do fail because of location, lack of capital, a poorly executed marketing plan or several other key points that justify their demise. However, I believe the essence of the true reason why many business fail, that shouldn’t, is due to lack of leadership & vision.

- Being the leader your business deserves is vital to it’s success.
- Leadership qualities are a skill set, that over time are enhanced and developed by YOUR ability to influence and guide the people around you.
- You must have established goals, a strong sense of internal fortitude and be able to delegate power so that you can multiply yourself and focus on Leading.
So, how do you grow as a leader right where your at.. for the benefit of your business?
1.Realize that Your Business Needs All of You!
This means that you cannot be double minded in regards to your focus. Don’t get busy with things that don’t matter to the true advancement of your business goals.
You must set your complete effort and energy into pouring YOU into your business or brand. Be aware of those things that easily sidetrack you, and work to extinguish them from robbing you of your time.
2. Let your true Personality shine!
Your panache and charisma is what people are going to be drawn to as they see you present your brand or as they walk into your doors. The atmosphere that you create should directly reflect your personality in a way that IT becomes a mirror of you. Becoming increasingly more of yourself and watch everyone notice how you run your business with your own Flair~
3. Take your Responsibility to Others Seriously
Others are counting on you to succeed. You have cheerleader in ever corner. They are your employees, your vendors, your partners and of course your family. As leaders, we need to focus on taking our level of committedness seriously, but be careful to NOT take ourselves too seriously.
If you can’t laugh at yourself, or slow down enough everyday while interacting in your business to just have fun.. then you are for sure going to put everyone in your circle of influence on pins and needles. Ease up, don’t micromanage or hover over your people. Leading by example is how people learn. Using too many words sometimes can get in the way.
4. Be a Continual Learner of People
Learn as much about people and what makes them tick. Listen to their needs and communicate clearly how you expect your employees to perform. Enhance their strengths and don’t focus so much on their weaknesses.
You become a respected leader when you become relatable.
Show your genuinely care about for them as a co-do’er of life! You will see a major shift in their level of performance if you show them that they are held in high regard. This skill can only coexist if you sincerely show your employees and peers that you value them in real and tangible words and actions. Treat them fairly and constantly reward good behavior.
